Children of Elias James, Jr. (1785-1860) and Nancy Fry (1785-1863) of Loudoun County, Virginia:

 

1.    Catherine James:  born September 14, 1807 in Pennsylvania; married October 14, 1836, in Coshocton County, Ohio to Noah Washington Buxton, Sr. (1812-1885), son of Thomas Buxton, Jr. (1773-1838) and Frances Macabee (1777-1860); died May 14, 1896 (aged 88) in Perry Township, Coshocton County, Ohio; buried at New Guilford Cemetery in Perry Township, Coshocton County, Ohio; known children include: Amanda Buxton Almack (1838-1920), William F. Buxton (1839-1869), Francis Marion Buxton (1840-1905), Noah Washington Buxton, Jr. (1842-1886), Mary Catherine Buxton Almack (1845-1873), Paulina Buxton Manchester (1848-1937) and Nancy Buxton Almack (1850-1877).

 

2.    Anna James:  born January 15, 1810 in Perry Township, Coshocton County, Ohio; married Soloman Ripley (1800-1878), son of John Ripley, Sr. (1765-1854) and Elizabeth Sheets Casebeer (1769-1858); died 1834 (aged 24); buried at Dunkirk Cemetery, Old Section, Dunkirk, Hardin County, Ohio; known children include: Jefferson James Ripley (1830-1889) and Franklin Ripley (1832-1895).

 

3.    Thomas James:  born May 14, 1812 in Coshocton County, Ohio; married circa 1833 to Sarah Ann Cochran (1815-1888), daughter of daughter of William Cochran (1793-1864) and Elizabeth Cochran (1793-1854); died March 23, 1889 (aged 76) in Coshocton County, Ohio; buried at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Coshocton, Coshocton County, Ohio; known children include: James Fleming James, Elias William James, Melvina V. James, Rebecca J. James, Rachel Vanzanne James, Ruth Victoria James, Nancy Elizabeth James and Sarah K. James.

Biographic Notes:

 

Elias James, Jr. (1785-1860) was the son of Elias James (1744-1789) and Anna Matson (1746-1827) of Loudoun County, Virginia.

 

Elias William James, the son of Thomas James (above) was born on February 11, 1837 in East Union, Coshocton County, Ohio.  He married Cornelia A. Denver, daughter of Patrick Denver and Mary Murphy of Clinton, Ohio on May 26, 1870 or May 16, 1871 or and died circa 1904.  Elias and Cornelia are known to have had a daughter Mary D. James born February 1873 and Rosalie James born April 1887.
